Condition: VF. Nice centering and detail on this example of this Rare coin. I can find no examples with these monograms nor any with a left monogram rather than mongoram above. See Roma e14,Lot85 (12/27/2014) for another example with the similar right monogram. Use the Picture as your judge as grading is subjective.

Notes:

Aegae (or Aigai) was a town in Aeolis mentioned by both Herodotus and Strabo as being a member of the Aeolian dodecapolis. Like Temnos, this town lay inland and was also an important sanctuary of Apollo. Aigai had its brightest period under the Attalid dynasty, which ruled from nearby Pergamon in the 3rd and 2nd century BC.

The Goat’s head was the badge of the city (or παρασημον).

The remains of the city are located near the modern village of Yuntdağı Köseler in Manisa Province, Turkey. The archaeological site is situated at a rather high altitude almost on top of Mount Gün (Dağı), part of the mountain chain of Yunt (Dağları). It is likely no coinage begins before the third century B.C. (see, however, B. M. C., Troas, p. lviii; cf. Imh., Kleinas. M., p. 46). Apollo Chresterios was worshipped at this city.
