🔄 Incremental Rotary Encoder — Multiple Output Types & Resolutions (Select Variant)

Industrial incremental encoder with AB quadrature outputs. Choose output type (NPN, PNP Push-Pull, or Complementary NPN/PNP) and resolution (600 / 1000 / 1024 / 2000 PPR). With 4× decoding your controller can read up to 2400 / 4000 / 4096 / 8000 CPR.

📦 What’s common to all variants

🧠 Choose the right Output Type

  • NPN (Open-Collector, 5–24 V)

    • Sinks current to 0 V; requires pull-up resistor (or PLC pull-up).

    • Use with sourcing inputs on PLCs/microcontrollers (e.g., many Arduino/5 V logic systems).

  • PNP Push-Pull (5–24 V)

    • Sources current to +V; actively drives high/low (no external pull-ups).

    • Use with sinking inputs; better noise immunity and faster edges than open-collector.

  • COMPL. NPN/PNP (Totem-Pole, 12–24 V)

    • True complementary push-pull driver; strong high/low drive at 12–24 V.

    • Best for long runs / noisy environments and most PLC high-speed inputs.

Tip: If your input card says sourcing, pick NPN. If it says sinking, pick PNP. If it wants push-pull / HTL / complementary, pick COMPL. NPN/PNP.

🔢 Resolution options (PPR → 4× decoded CPR)

  • 600 PPR → 2400 CPR

  • 1000 PPR → 4000 CPR

  • 1024 PPR → 4096 CPR

  • 2000 PPR → 8000 CPR

🔌 Typical wiring (generic)

  • V+ = supply (per variant)

  • 0 V = ground

  • A = Channel A

  • B = Channel B
    (For NPN versions, tie A/B through pull-ups to your logic level.)

Do not connect A/B directly to V+. NPN outputs are open-collector.

  • Match the supply to the chosen variant.

  • Keep shaft alignment and use a proper coupling to avoid bearing stress.

  • For long cables, use shielded cable and solid grounding; prefer PNP Push-Pull or COMPL. outputs for highest noise immunity.
