The unique Knottec Wood Filler system from Power Adhesives has been especially formulated for the fast and effective repair of not only knots defects but also deep scratches and other forms of deep wood damage.  Because of its tough characteristics knottec is perfect for repairing wooden doors, window frames, furniture, floors, industrial/commercial speakers and much more. It is a very cost effective wood filler system allowing you to match the Wood Colour or Knots with a polyamide Hot Melt Adhesive Glue.  

With 15 available colours, knottec ensures the best possible match to the surrounding wood prior to varnishing etc.  It is suitable for general applications where a fast setting, easy-to-trim and easy-to-sand product is required, and for applications where a tougher, hard-wearing product is required eg repairing laminate flooring.

After the glue gun has heated up for a few minutes the holes can be filled, using the heat sink blocks if the hole is on the edge or to accelerate the cooling.  The adhesive then rapidly cools (couple of minutes dependent upon depth) to set hard and once cold can be planed level, sanded, painted and varnished or waxed. 

The system is far more effective and faster than cellulose fillers which some people use for speed; and it does not have the over-painting problem.  It is the only wood filler which we fully endorse for use with our C33-27 & C64-31 Speaker paint.  There is no mixing and no wastage of unused filler as the adhesive left in the glue gun just remelts next time you wish to use it.

The Knot-Tec Adhesive grade 7713 has been specially formulated and is now available in 15 colours to create invisible or feature repairs.  The sticks are available in amber, beech, beige, black, cola, cream, grey, ivory, larch, mahogany, oak, pine, walnut, white and yellow. It is available in 5stick packs of a single colour or 2.5kg bulk packs.

1 TEC305 Hot Melt Glue Gun with plastic stand: includes 12 month return to base reapir or replacement warranty

(This light industrial use glue gun operates at 195°C, and has a 40 watt self regulating glue gun with power-on light.  It has a melt rate of 750gm per hour) 

1 sample pack containing 2 each of Beech, Cola, Larch, Mahogany, Oak and Pine Glue Sticks (12mm diameter, 250mm long)

1 Tec Mat: Heat Resistant Silicone Mat

2 Metal Heat Sink Blocks for shaping

1 Mouseplane: an innovative plane or chisel to plane the adhesive level to the wood

1 silicone glue saver (allows you to remake sticks so you can change colour without glue wastage)

1 sample colour swatch of the different colours of adhesive

1 Plastic Heavy Duty Storage Case (may differ slightly from the case pictured) / Toolbox to hold everything supplied and further glue stick packs

How to Use

Ensure that the area to be filled is dust-free.  Heat the glue gun up and insert a glue stick.  Fill the hole with molten knot-tec adhesive.  If the hole goes all the way through or is on the edge of the wood, use the provided heat sink blocks to create a void around the hole before filling with knot-tec.  Wait for the adhesive to cool for a couple of minutes, then trim off the excess adhesive with the included Mouseplane.  The repair can now be sanded, varnished, painted or treated in the usual way, achieving a high-quality finish to the restored wood.

Further supplies of the polyamide adhesive filler sticks grade 7713 are available in 15 colours in packs of five sticks,  or ten sticks per colour or in 2.5kg packs which contain approx.49 sticks.  The sticks are 12mm diameter glue sticks which are 250mm long and should only be used in Tec Hot Melt 12mm Glue Guns.  Metal glue gun stands are available separately please contact us if you would like further details.
