A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long piled") rug from Konya in Central Turkey. The rug is made of lamb’s wool. These contemporary looking and somewhat primitive small rugs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers in Konya region of Central Anatolia until 1960s. Today they are considered collectible as well as being highly decorative as each one is one of a kind and representing a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
