  • MILD STEEL round tubing: ERW means Electric Resistance Welded. ERW round tube is made when steel strip is welded to form a tube shape. The tube is continuously seam welded, resulting in a neat weld running along the inside of the tube.

 

  • Quality: Mild steel is a quality strong metal. However, it is not rust-proof and may do so over time. Use galvanized or stainless steel if you need resistance to rust. If the product shows signs of rust, remove it with WD-40 or fine sanding.

 

  • Modification: Mild steel can be welded and is also suitable for painting. Mild steel is magnetic.

 

  • Cutting and Handling: We cut this tube on our ultra-powerful industrial saw. The edges may be sharp as we rarely deburr once we have cut to smaller lengths. Please note that there may be some scratches on the metal as these tubes are housed in our factory. We do our best to always ensure that our products are kept in the best possible condition.

 

  • Standards: All products meet all relevant British Standards. Handle with care as there may be sharp edges from the cutting process.
