A superb example of Bohemian art glass using the Meteor or Papillon technique, which involved rolling the hot gather of glass over crushed glass frit to create the distinctive rough white granular texture, then applying trails or threads of contrasting coloured glass over the surface to create the network of green lines visible across the body. The organic lobed form of the body, the dramatically splayed and crinkled green glass foot, and the contrast between the rough matte white frit surface and the glossy applied green trailing is technically demanding and visually spectacular. The attribution to Wilhelm Kralik Sohn of Eleonorahain in Bohemia is consistent with this type of work and the Meteor range is well documented in the literature on Bohemian art glass from the 1900 to 1910 period.
