This conversion goes beyond the standard AVONDALE AUDIO
NCC 300 conversion with the addition of the superior AVONDALE AUDIO NCM1 Power supply and Pre-regulator upgrades.

Within this custom build the front end regulation that is standard with the AVONDALE AUDIO NCC300 is fed a very pure DC from the pre-regulators on the NCM1 power supply circuit board. Thereby offering 2 layers of dedicated regulated purest DC supply, for the delicate and extremely sensitive front end amplifier circuit. This enhances the sound quality even further over the standard NCC 300 conversion. Also the NCM1 offers a massive 16,000 uF of smoothing per rail
(32,000 uF total) to the out put section of the amplifier. Or as the designer of this master piece Les Wolstenholme of Avondale Audio calls it - "The Grunt !" This means this amplifier has  vast current reserves that will allow it to drive any loudspeaker, making particularly suited to current hungry designs such as Linn Isobariks. Driving low impedances with total ease and with over 125 Watts of clean crystal clear power on offer in the 250 chassis, The AVONDALE AUDIO NCC 300 has few rivals and no equals as a ultra high end high fidelity power house of an amplifier.

Also the NCM1 offers a soft start section for even more layers of refined operation.

At power-up, the mains supply is connected to the toroidal transformer via a bank of ballast resistors, thereby temporarily restricting the incoming current until the capacitor bank has had the time to gain a charge. After a specific time, the ballast resistors are removed from the circuit by another high current relay. At this point the mains supply is now connected for full operation, all without any intervention from you and without the need for any power supply other than the incoming mains itself. Each aspect of the circuit has been well proven for reliable and silent operation. Incorporated in the module are the points to which a thermal trip device is be inserted as the one fitted as standard to the NAIM NAP 135 Naim Audio amplifiers shown here in the pictures. This removes the previous restriction to the incoming mains supply as it only carries the low current relay energy.

The Naim NAP250 sounds mediocre and almost “tinny” compared to the NCC300s. Not only do the NCC300s sound better than the NAP250, they sound better than the NAP300DR and also the NAP500DR. They brought my whole system to life! I now have 2 systems running the NCC300s. My main system in the lounge has a pair of B&W 802 diamonds and the NCC300s truly reveal what these amazing speakers are capable of. I am deeply impressed with the NCC300s. I have never heard better power amplifiers. I shudder to think how much you would need to spend to better them. - it would be tens of thousands of pounds.

It's here, I am now the proud recipient of my NAP250-2 case full of Avondale NCC300 Quattro and NCM 1 Power supply components, very kindly delivered by Simon Hamnett. This was hand built by Les AT AVONDALE AUDIO as it was the first Classic case Naim Nap 250 Classic case to be converted. I don't know where to start with how this amp sounds, stunning is an understatement, I liked the sound of the NAP250-2, after hearing the NCC300 I feel NAIM have got a lot of questions to be addressed.

All NAIM owners need to hear this amp, as it's the best I've heard, that was from cold! It's getting better all the time.

I have the NCC300 conversion and the results are most impressive to my ears. The NCC300s are the best amplifiers I have ever heard. Using 2 separate power supplies with a well regulated supply for the front end and a huge unconstrained supply to the output transistors from the main reservoir capacitors is a brilliant combination resulting in great clarity, detail, wide sound stage and vivid lifelike reproduction, but with huge transients, deep, powerful but controlled bass, and enough power to drive just about any speaker. Les, you are an audiophile genius!😎🎉🎶🎼 I am a very happy man to have come across you and your wonderful creations!

Bought an AVONDALE AUDIO NCC 300 in a Naim Nap 250 Chrome bumper box, Simon Hamnett delivered on time and it was work really well driving my 1987 passive Linn Isobariks with good support from Simon for any questions I had. Sent it back to Simon for an upgrade to add the Avondale Audio NCM1 power section to the AVONDALE AUDIO NCC 300 boards and he turned it around very quickly and returned it. The new amplifier is fantastic, I have never ever heard better.
