George III Gravy Boat Thomas Shepherd Sterling Silver 1791 Crest

George III era English sterling silver gravy boat, decorated with applied banded borders with matching flat handle. On the side, there is an engraved crest, featuring Knight with a Blade in his hand, and inscribed "Pro Patria". Made by Thomas Shepherd, London, 1791.

This important late 18th century piece is 7 1/2" long, 3 3/4" wide and weighs 246.6 grams or 7.95 ozs Troy.

 The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. 

 The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
