Signed by the artist Guido Cacciapuoti (Naples, 1892 - Milan 1953). Original paper label by "Ceramich e Gres d'Arte" (Ceramics and Art Stoneware) to the base numbered 888/2.
These figural groups of two or three ducks by Cacciapuoti, usually found with white glaze, are 'Indian Runner Ducks' and show their characteristic and slightly comical upright pose. Produced in the 1930's this figure is more probably glazed stoneware (rather than porcelain) which was the artists preference at the time.
Guido's work is not commonly found and appears only occasionally for sale. This work in particular is an excellent example, in wonderful condition.
