Description: Secker and Warburg – London 1952.Blue cloth boards, gilt titles to spine, top edge gilt. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Henry Moore (illustrator), Music scure by Benjamin Britten. First and Limited edition. Limited to eight-hundred and fifty copies printed on hand made paper, of which this is numbered 74. In the original uncropped dustwrapper, uncommon to find in such a nice condition. 'The Rescue' is a melodrama based off Homer's 'Odyssey'. The melorama was originally written for broadcasting. Illustrated with six plates. Written by Edward Sackville-West. Orchestral score by Benjamin Britten. Illustrated by Henry Moore. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dustwrapper.

Condition: Book is in very good condition for its age. Some wear to boards and extremities commensurate with Age. Light bumping to spine ends and corners. Sunning to edges of Blue boards and spine. Dustwrapper with minor edge wear and a small closed tear to the lower front, and minor loss to base of spine. Minor marks to the dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, clean and uncut, no inscriptions. Very Good. Dustwrapper protected in clear cover. Please see Photos.

Our Opinion: An exceptional copy of this limited edition of Edward Sackville-West's entertaining Odyssey based melodrama, illustrated by Henry Moore. Rare to find in Dustwrapper
