IMPRESSED on FLAT WEIGHING PLATE is RATES of POSTAGE, BUT, RA of RATES is WORN & NOT on NEXT LINE is ALSO WORN.
COUNTERBALANCE is EXCELLENT & MOVES CORRECTLY.
UNDER the FLAT PLATE THERE APPEARS TO BE SOME LEAD FOR CORRECTING WEIGHT SHOWN.

1880 is Only My Considered Opinion on Date of Manufacture.
Base is Wooden with Some Wear to Corners & Edges.
Other than 8 Ferrous or Iron Screws, the Rest of the Scales are Made of Nickel Plated Brass, But Very Much in Need of Restoration.
Total Dimensions of Wooden Base is 31.3 x 12.6 cms & Height to Pivot Centre is 11 cms.
EXCELLENT RESTORABLE CONDITION with NO CRACKS or BENDS or BROKEN SECTIONS.
NO OTHER DAMAGE WHICH is QUITE UNUSUAL GIVEN it was a SET of POSTAL SCALES & MADE TO BE USED.
