Description: This auction is for a set of ten (10) soup plates.  They are shallow wide-rim bowls, and they’re beautiful, with pink-yellow roses around the wide rim, on a white ground.  They were produced by the Rosenthal porcelain company, Selb, Bavaria.   We don't commonly see this piece, but according to "Etiquette Scholar,"  the soup plate (described as "a wide, shallow bowl with a flanged rim. Diameter is approximately 9 to 10 inches, the rim is 1 to 2 inches wide, the depth is up to 1 ½ inches deep, and the well is 6 to 7 inches across") is "The only soup bowl used in formal dinner service."

Measurements: Approximately 10” in diameter, and the rim is a high 1 1/8” above the table.

Marks: On the bottom is the Rosenthal mark, of a type used in the 1930s.

Condition: This set is in excellent vintage condition, without cracks, repairs, chips, or crazing.  There is moderate utensil marking.

Description and condition

1.   I do not claim to be an expert in any area.  I always exercise due diligence in researching every item, and never claim an item to be of a particular brand or origin unless I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is so. If I suggest that an item looks like, or may be, of a particular origin or brand, I make it abundantly clear that I am not asserting that it is definitely of that origin or brand, but rather that, based on information and belief, I have reason for thinking it might be. 

2.   I ask bidders to read the item description carefully, and to look closely at all photos, to determine the age, condition, and value of the item.  In return, I promise to both make mention in the listing, and include photographs, of any and all cracks, chips, repairs, wear due to age, and any other condition issues I find.

a.   Please keep in mind that while I try very hard to take and post photos that accurately represent the item’s color and shading, I am far from a professional photographer, and the variations between my computer monitor and yours may result in the item appearing slightly different from what you expect.

b.   My goals include representing the size of the item as precisely as possible, but all measurements mentioned in the listing must be understood to be approximate.

3.   Please ask any and all questions before bidding on or purchasing the item.  I am happy to answer every question to the best of my ability, with honesty, candor, and respect for the bidder.  By all means, ask for additional information and/or photos if you wish.

Payment

1.   I accept payment only through PayPal.

2.   Please pay within 3 days of purchasing, and I will ship immediately upon receiving payment.

Shipping

1.   My goal is to pack and ship your item immediately upon payment being received, and I almost always achieve that.  At unusually busy times a day or (rarely) even two might pass before the item is shipped.  Under no circumstances will more than three days elapse before your item is shipped.

2.   I will be glad to ship internationally, but keep in mind that your shipping cost will be more (perhaps much more, depending upon your location and the size/weight of package) than the shipping fee in the listing, to reflect the higher fees to ship internationally.  The shipping fee in the listing applies only to shipping within the 48 contiguous states of the continental United States.

a.   The international buyer is always responsible for any custom charges, taxes or duties that may be due.  These charges ARE NOT included in the item price or shipping cost.  Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.

b.   I will always ship in the least expensive manner unless expressly asked by the buyer to do otherwise.

3.   I use recycled boxes and shipping materials whenever possible.

Returns

1.   Returns happily accepted for 30 days, but only if the item is significantly different than described and pictured.
