Antique EAPG Covered Butter Cheese Dish U S Glass Company No 15054, Massachusetts (OMN)

Absolutely Gorgeous Pattern Featuring a Design of Hobstars, Arches/Crescents, and Hobnails or Buttons
Made by the United States Glass Company, Pittsburgh, PA. Circa 1898.

The Massachusetts Pattern was one of five of US Glass' State Series introduced in 1898, with seven having debuted the previous year. It was produced at factory F, Ripley & Co. in Pittsburg, PA. and factory GP, the new, modern factory built by U.S. Glass Co. at Glassport, PA. in 1894. It brilliantly reflects the attempt of the glass maker to bring the sparkle of more expensive cut glass to the average home of the day.

VERY GOOD CONDITION ~ There are some rough spots / very shallow chips to be felt along the outer edge of the butter dish, and along the bottom rim of the cover. Most, if not all, follow along the mold seams. Only visible, except under the most stringent of inspections, but can be felt with the fingertip. There are no other chips, nicks, cracks, or damage. The small flaws are not enough to detract from overall appeal. Displays beautifully!

Measures approx. 8 1/4" across the bottom dish x 5 1/2" tall.

Would make a great addition to any collection of EAPG.
