We have been unable to discover anything about this very fine artist possibly because from the style he is continental, most likely Austrian.
This superb and beautiful portrait is of an unidentified young girl aged about four and is in chalk within a superb gilt oval frame which itself is within a wood outer frame, It is signed and dated 1859 at middle left
Because of its size, delicate glazing and weight the picture is NOT suitable for sending outside the UK. Any bid from outside the UK will regrettably be refused.
Size 12" x 9 1/2" (30cm x 24cm), the gilt inner frame 18" x 16"(46cm x 40cm)
