The polycarbonate sleeve protects the fixture from damage as well as supporting the gimbal that allows the light to pivot in all directions. This fixture is designed to provide excellent efficiency, longer life, and superior quality of light by providing the spread of light required with the desired lumen output while delivering optimized balance of light without troublesome glares or hotspots.
