This 24" x 24" Interstate Utah 70 sign was part of a custom order to 1957 specifications over fifteen years ago and has been in storage out of the weather ever since. It still displays very very nice. There are two mounting holes in the back which have not been punched out. The sign is made of 1/2" thick plywood with engineering grade reflective facing material. Authentic posted state-named shields presently are almost non-existent in the majority of states and most likely would be much more expensive and much poorer condition than this one.
Note: The streaks in the blue field through and around the numerals are sun reflections from photography on the reflective facing and not blemishes or decolorizations on the sign. There are similar streaks in many of my sign photo listings. This one is made of 1/2" thick plywood, because the specific state posted wooden signs back at the time, and there may be some small slight imperfections on the sign as a result of the manufacturing process. The back is painted green and upon close inspection there might be some slight traces of the green paint on the front of the sign, mostly around the edges. There is also a saw-tooth hanger on the back of the sign which can be easily removed if desired.
I will be shipping this sign by either UPS or Fed Ex Ground. No shipping to P.O. boxes. I will also refund any significant shipping overcharges in the event the buyer lives in or close to California. In the event of multiple signs to the same address at the same time I will also combine them into one package (up to 5 signs) to save shipping costs.
I have many different signs, some of which were made to late 1950's specs and some are plywood instead of aluminum. If there is one you might be interested in that you don't see listed, contact me and I will let you know if I have that one and I can create a special eBay listing. I do not have any duplicates and I am not having any new signs being made nor am I planning to do so.
