Feminism - A 1952 Anti-Feminist Pencil and Crayon Drawing

A strange though intriguing piece of anti-feminist history. A pencil drawing with some additional crayon decoration, depicted two women sitting on a bench outside a cinema with a poster for a film above them “Unwanted Women with Lilian & Dora Gish For Adults Only”, a door to a Museum to their other side. Nearby a signpost points in the direction of the two women “The Ruins”, whilst the other way points to some public lavatories and a cafe which is marked “The Pilgrims Way”. The depiction of the two women has been done in a rather masculine manner, and the two appear to be holding hands. Dated at the foot “Sept. 52”. Executed in a rather primitive, cartoon-like style.

Approx. 255x162mm., some peripheral creasing, though overall in good order. A most curious drawing.
