A very fine, rare French certified cello bow made by Pierre Simon ca. 1860. Pierre Simon was one of the greatest French bow makers. His bows are captivating to observe in every detail and outstanding for their wonderful tonal quality. This is an exceptional example of the maker's prime period in excellent state of preservation with all original parts. The stick is fine pernambuco, round, strong with a nice balance and a phenomenal sound of a remarkable projection and great elegance. The length of the stick is 69 cm and the weight is 79 g.
