PLEASE VISIT MY WIFE'S EBAY SITE- "TRUCKDEAL"- ALSO! WE'LL BOTH BE SURE YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS!!
This is an old antique or vintage wire mesh ladle or spoon of a type used to lift boiled eggs or drain any food spooned out of a pot of hot water.
It is made of a beautifully woven and twisted brass wire. Where it works outward from the center is an exquisite thing to look at!! Tiny, intricately woven in and out, spiral, with 24 separate wires that join up the rest of the way out in hexagon-shaped patterns like chicken-wire mesh, but much nicer little spaces. I think it was hand created. It doesn't look like machine work!
The handle is a section of bamboo wood, and it has the time-worn look of bleached wood, like the washboard frames of laundry scrub boards!
It is a really super-nice looking little work of art! Much more than anyone just glancing at it would think! It DOES make you want to pick it up and admire it if you see it and pay any attention at all!
That is how I discovered it! Had to have it once I picked it up!
It is from my antique collection! I collected heavily for 30+ years all over the Midwest as I traveled to demolition jobs!
I will sell off everything over time before I die with it all!!
