IF YOUR MACHINE SOUNDS LIKE IT'S PUMPING BUT IT'S NOT, YOU DON'T NEED A REPLACEMENT PUMP (WHICH WILL GO THE SAME WAY AFTER A 500+ MORE CUPS), YOU JUST NEED TO REPLACE THE BALL.
A STEEL BALL WILL NOT WORK FOR MORE THAN A FEW DAYS AS THE HIGH TEMPERATURE AND SACRIFICIAL PROTECTION EFFECT CORRODES IT, PITTS THE SURFACE AND RENDERS IT USELESS (PLEASE SEE LAST PHOTO FOR YOURSELF)
 
THIS REPLACEMENT BALL AND SEAL IS COMPATIBLE WITH ANY MACHINE WHICH USES THE HIGHER CAPACITY
EP7 / EX7 / EX7GW  PUMP
(some of the pictures are of the smaller "5 series" pump but these are just to show the sequence of re/disassembly of the component parts). This ball seal is for the larger capacity "7 series" pumps.
IF YOUR MACHINE SOUNDS LIKE IT'S PUMPING BUT IT'S NOT, YOU DON'T NEED A REPLACEMENT PUMP (WHICH WILL PROBABLY GO THE SAME WAY AFTER A 1000+ MORE CUPS), YOU JUST NEED TO REPLACE THE BALL SEAL / VALVE.
 
PLEASE NOTE
 IF YOUR COFFEE MACHINE PUMP SOUNDS LIKE IT IS WORKING BUT HAS A POOR OR INTERMITTENT OR NO FLOW, THE MOST LIKELY PROBLEM IS THIS BALL VALVE.
 
THE  PUMP IS DESIGNED TO EVENTUALLY FAIL AS IT HAS BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH  A PLASTIC BALL (INSIDE) WHICH IMMEDIATELY STARTS TO WEAR DOWN WITH USE UNTIL IT IS TOO SMALL TO CLOSE THE SEAL
 
APART FROM ADDING TO THE WORLDS MICRO-PLASTICS PROBLEM WHICH THE PUMPS WITH THE PLASTIC VALVES DO, THERE IS A REAL RISK THAT THESE PLASTIC PARTICLES HAVE BEEN INGESTED BY YOUR COFFEE DRINKERS AND THE JURY IS OUT ON WHAT ADVERSE EFFECT THEY CAN HAVE ON HEALTH.
 
THIS IS A SCIENCE LABORATORY QUALITY MINERAL (GLASS) SPHERE WHICH WILL NOT WEAR AWAY WITH USE AND WILL PROBABLY OUTLAST THE COFFEE MACHINE. WE HAVE THESE IMPORTED FROM A SCIENCE LABORATORY EQUIPMENT SUPPLIER IN SPAIN AND THEY ARE INFINITELY SUPERIOR TO THE DAFT PLASTIC BEADS WHICH HAVE WORN AWAY IN YOUR COFFEE MACHINE PUMP.

THIS FIX ALSO TACKLES THAT BIT OF CORPORATE PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE OUTLINED ABOVE.

This is a repair kit which addresses the problem permanently is better than a new pump as there will be no more micro-plastics in your coffees and it will pump more effectively / efficiently.

THIS KIT INCLUDES:

  1. 1 x PRECISION MADE GLASS BALL / MINERAL SPHERE
  2. 1 X CORRESPONDING PUMP O-RING (the O-ring is made from nitrile rubber (acrylonitrile butadiene terpolymer)

So this is MUCH BETTER THAN A NEW PUMP OR A LIKE FOR LIKE REPAIR, this listing is for a "ONCE ONLY - FIXED FOR GOOD" repair.

This is an upgrade to a pumping system that will work without valve wear.

You can do this! PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES AS THEY ARE THERE TO GUIDE YOU.

With basic DIY skills, fitting this new valve and seal is EASY.

 
  1. In most cases, it is advisable to firstly remove the pump from the coffee machine (this is not always necessary, as in some machines, one can access the pump assembly without removing it from the machine)
  2. Remove 2 screws holding the pump to the metal solenoid chassis
  3. Dismantle the pump as in the supporting photos
  4. Replace the plastic ball with the new glass sphere
  5. Re-assemble pump (pay attention to the photos to make sure it is re-assembled properly)
  6. Replace pump into coffee machine
  7. JOB DONE.
