This great photo is housed in its original period wood frame, which measures 25 by 13 inches.

There is a photograph has 1940 Notre Dame Varsity marking, as well as having all of the players and Coach Elmer Layden identified.  The photographer is Elmore.

I have not attempted to remove this photo from its original frame, however it looks like some of the photo has affixed to the glass in areas.
