For Proper Cleaning Performance Replace Belts Twice Per Year. Stretch belts lose elasticity from being stretched. An old belt can be an inch or two longer than a new belt. Stretched belts will slip when vacuuming carpeted floors and can't agitate properly.

The belts you receive may be an inch or two shorter than the old belt because belts must be stretched to almost twice their original length to be installed. After a few months the belt will lose elasticity. For proper cleaning you must replace your belts at least twice per year.
