Human Shows Far Phantasies by Thomas Hardy. London: Macmillan and Co., 1925. 279 pages, with 3 pages of ads.
Poetry by Hardy.
Former owner's bookplate on front paste-down endsheet. Presumably the Crosby Gaige who was a Broadway producer and gourmand.
Lovely green cloth binding with gold lettering and decorating. Rough edges; pages still uncut (see photo of title page). In original paper jacket. Book and jacket are in very good condition.
Slipcase must have been made shortly after publication, for personal owner. The blue cloth/gray paper chemise has lost its ribbon, and some of the paper edges are splitting.
The slipcase is the same blue cloth with highly-decorated black quarter leather. It is very solid, but the leather has scuffed in places and the top cloth has a peeling edge. Please see photos.
