The SKE distribution low-loss header, also known as a hydraulic balancer, is designed to hydraulically separate the boiler circuit from the heating circuit. It is primarily used in medium- and high-power heating systems (starting from 25 kW and typically from 40 kW upward), which may include:
One or more boilers (solid fuel, gas condensing, or heat pump-based)
Multiple heating zones or circuits (e.g. underfloor heating, radiator heating, and domestic hot water (DHW))
In such complex systems, the SKE eliminates the need for manual flow balancing between pumps. It allows each circuit to operate independently and without interference, ensuring optimal pump performance and stable hydraulic conditions.

Heat Demand = Boiler Output
The system operates under equilibrium. Boiler output matches the heating circuit demand.
Heat Demand < Boiler Output
When thermostatic valves (e.g. on radiators) begin closing, excess heat circulates back through the hydraulic balancer. This signals the boiler to reduce output or shut down.
Heat Demand > Boiler Output
Increased suction from the heating circuit through the balancer signals the boiler to increase power to meet demand.
