Product Description
Though now all but forgotten, the television series HAWKEYE AND THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS originally ran on Canadian television for one season in 1957. A joint production of the ITC (Incorporated Television Company) and Normandie Productions, it was freely adapted from James Fenimore Cooper's 1826 novel THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS and set in New York State's Hudson Valley during the 1750s. Episode writers put two of the book's central characters, rifle-wielding Native American scout Hawkeye (John Hart) and his "blood brother," Chingachgook (Lon Chaney, Jr.), center stage, and followed their adventures. This box set contains four of the 39 original episodes: THE BRUTE, THE INDIAN DOLL, THE LONG RIFLES and THE PRISONER.
