Harry Pendel (Geoffrey Rush) is a London tailor working in Panama, offering a high-quality service to many of the richest and most powerful families in the country. One day he is approached by British secret agent Andrew Osnard (Pierce Brosnan) and asked to supply information on some of his politically significant clients. Harry agrees, but his talent for storytelling gets the better of him, and he soon has Osnard's bosses falling for a tale which threatens to give rise to a major diplomatic incident.
