Please note before buying: Photo shown is a stock photo. These were always a sand or rough cast item. The one you receive may or may not look like exactly the one in the photo but it will substantially look like it. It may have pits or striations in the surface. The varnish over the cover may appear slightly different. This is the way they were from the factory.
You are purchasing one alloy or pot metal Linkert or Schebler Carburetor cover. Will fit either two or four bolt intake style M-Series and Schebler carbs as well. Known as an air intake cap officially in period parts catalogs, also known as a bird catcher or snoot. It’s also a neat custom touch for your vintage bobber, chopper, or period custom. Great for keeping your pants leg out of the carb! This is an original style first used in 1927 listed as Harley part number 1229-27 used on JD, D, DL, DLD, and VL models until early 1931. Very cool piece for your bobber as well!
This does come with two brass screws.
I’ve got other styles of snoots and retro covers on other listings in my store under “Linkert” I also have tons of good used and NOS Linkert parts from a life-long collection I’m selling off.
