Fabulous Late 1800s German 800 Silver Miniature Enamel Victorian Lady Goblet Cup ! Renoir influenced, for the enamel painting is very similar to the beautiful ladies Renoir painted, in lovely Victorian fashion in the outdoors with a festive atmosphere, absolutely superb, no? The hallmark of the crescent and crown is the German Reichsmark or national mark. The "Halbmond und Krone" was initiated in 1886 and made compulsory in 1888 to represent entire united Germany, and 800 is the silver content, these marks indicate that the goblet cup was created somewhere in the 1890s. The goblet weighs approximately 29.6 grams. The goblet is approximately 4.3 cm (1 11/16 inches) in height, with a diameter opening of approximately 3 cm (1 3/16 inches). The fabulous and festive hand painted Victorian lady is holding a wine or liquor jug in the left hand and saluting with a class held in her right hand, one can almost hear her say "prost" or cheers ! If I could travel time one of my favorite periods and places would be Victorian England, for I very much admire their manners, and the great thing about antiques, particularly beauties such as this, it allows you to travel time in a special way ! NeVer drink alone again, but in the company of a lovely Victorian lady ! I have never before encountered a goblet as lovely, so grab her while you can !
