The Mk II model of the TBS Multi Carry Knife Sheath takes our already great product and just makes it better. We have added some brilliant new features and have made this high quality product simply one of the best on the market today. We have changed the belt loop so that the sheath now hangs lower in the regular configuration and we have switched the velcro straps for double press studs which makes it more secure for carrying in the scout carry configuration.
This variant of our sheath will allow you to carry a firesteel (9.5mm Army size for regular and 12.5mm Fatboy size for the large) and a Fallkniven DC4 or CC4 sharpening stone in the Regular and Large. The pouch is also fully removable and can be carried independently.
- The regular size is designed to fit our Boar Bushcraft knife but will fit any knife that has similar dimensions. It will fit a knife with up to a 4.5 inch (115mm) blade, 1.20 inch (30mm) blade depth and 4 inch (100mm) circumference handle.
- The large size is designed to fit our Grizzly Bushcraft knife but will fit any knife that has similar dimensions. It will fit a knife with up to a 5 inch (125mm) blade, 1.5 inch (37mm) blade depth and 4.25 inch (110mm) circumference handle.
As a guide to other products the regular sheath will fit:
The TBS Boar, of course, The Spyderco Bushcraft Knife, Helle Gaupe, Helle Temagami, Helle Fjellkniven, EKA A10, EKA W11 and practically all of the Mora Range. This list is obviously not exhaustive but will act a good size fit guide.
Our sheaths are a high quality leather product that allow you to carry the knife in the regular way or offers the versatility of being able to be carried in a linear fashion along a belt or to be attached to the strap of a bag or even on MOLLE type webbing if need be.
All additional products shown in the pictures are representative of ability and are NOT included in the price unless purchased as an extra
Our knife range and leather work is manufactured from high quality European materials by a top, well known, European manufacturer in small batches; they are NOT churned out in their thousands in a factory in the Far East. This allows us to have ultimate control over quality and materials and we are extremely happy with the results.
TBS Army Firesteel
The TBS Firesteel is, quite simply, a brilliant product. I know there about a thousand different types on the market today but I honestly believe that you cannot get more bang for your buck than our Army size Firesteel.
The very latest model of our firesteel now comes with a painted wooden handle as we are trying to go as plastic free as possible. There is now a choice of strikers you can have with your Firesteel, our standard one or the fantastic TBS Stoat Multitool.
Naturally we have cut out the 10 middlemen taking their slice and gone direct to the manufacturer making this Firesteel unbelievable value. It is an "Army" sized firesteel making it 9mm thick and will give you approximately 6000-8000 strikes.
Using the striker it gives off a massive shower of white hot sparks thanks to the addition of just little more of the combustible metals. After using quite a few different products we were suitably impressed with this model and I really liked the fact that there was no faff and flash, just a simple steel with a great striker.
I know a lot of people will automatically use the back of their knife but you really can't get better than a dedicated striker and this one just works. You can either use the side or the curved tip to get a brilliant result and it has the added bonus of having a measuring scale (ideal as a roamer for maps) and a Bottle opener that doubles as a hex nut spanner.
An unbelievably great value firesteel for the great outdoors. There is now a "Fatboy" version of this firesteel available in store.
Specifications:
- 9.5mm Diameter Firesteel
- 80mm Length Ferro Rod with 65mm exposed
- 50mm Length Handle
- 115mm Total Length
Fallkniven DC4 Combination Sharpening Stone
The Fallkniven DC4 combination stone is good addition to your sharpening stable.
The newly-developed DC4 whetstone consists of a fine diamond stone (25 micron) and a very special ceramic stone, made of synthetic sapphires. The advantage of these materials, although they get worn, will still keep their flat shape this is important when you sharpen your knife. And, since these materials are the hardest we know of, they will sharpen any steel, even these extremely hard powder steels.
You don't need any lubrication for these stone but now and then you should consider cleaning them with warm water and liquid soap. The stones might feel coarse from the start but will become smoother/better after some use. A leather pouch is included.
How to use your DC whetstone:
- If your knife is dull, we advise you to start with the diamond stone. After restoring the edge to original shape, de-burr the edge lightly with the ceramic stone in order to get a razor-sharp edge.
- Use no oil or water.
- Start by laying the blade flat on the stone, raise the blade spine approx. the thickness of the blade, and start moving the knife in circular motions.
The ink trick:
- Colour the edge with a felt-tip pen. You can check your progress in sharpening the knife by observing where the colour is removed.
How to check the sharpness:
- To check the sharpness of your knife, pull the
- edge very lightly on your finger nail. If it cuts, the knife is certainly sharp enough for most
- tasks.
Break-in-period:
Upon delivery, your new DC whetstone will appear very coarse. This coarseness will disappear when the tool is put to use.

You don’t need any lubrication for these stones but now and then you should consider cleaning them with water and liquid soap. A leather pouch is included.
