 CHINESE RICEPAPER DRAWINGS

CIRCA 1850

This continues the many such drawings which we have offered on the site.  The emphasis in this selection is on flower paintings which are much sought after, plus two figure examples.

All are fixed permanently on acid free white paper and then on acid free board.

The condition is good compared to the average, with the inevitable minor flaws and slight ageing.    All were badly damaged on the edges which have been trimmed.  A few faults extend into the drawings which are mentioned individually.

This example is of an exotic butterfly on a flowering branch.

It has slight ageing and a paper fold at top right clear of the drawing.
