These are In-Line MC4 Blocking Diodes. These are made with genuine Multi-Contact MC4 connectors not an imitation. The conductor is 10 AWG UL Listed PV rated wire. These blocking diodes are used to prevent reverses leakage current backwards through the strings. If one string becomes severely shaded or if there is a short circuit in one of the modules, the blocking diode prevents the other strings from losing current back into the shaded or damaged string. The shaded or damaged string is then "isolated" from the others and more current is sent on to the load thus increasing output. They simply plug in-line with your circuit to provide complete single circuit protection of your solar array. These In-Line Blocking Diode are sealed and can be placed inside or out.
