This is a magnificent early American 1868-1910 or German before 1886 sterling silver .925 box with gold wash on the inside with wonderful details and design.
Initialed with V12, 925 and 750 marks.
This box weights approx. 610g
measures approx. 7" Front 5 1/2" Deep and 7" Tall.
This piece is simply gorgeous!
The art skill of the workmanship is splendid and very well executed. Three dimensional and very much detailed grape wine crowns the lid of the box and the box it self is nested on legs that are shaped as grape vines. Four three dimensional grape wines are used to decorate all four corners.
The box has a working lock with a small silver key. overall it's in a very good condition, except for a small dent in the front .
