Sir George Hodgson was an Irish Baronet and an extremely talented painter, exhibiting regularly at the Royal Hiberian and the Dublin Academies.  

 This drawing is part of a large folio of his work which was  sold through Sotheby's in 1999, some of which were subsequently sold on through another major sale room.

They were drawn on his travels round Europe and fortunately are mostly clearly annotated with location and date.

All are mounted within acid free board and are in very fine condition.

This superbly drawn view is of Sorrento from St.Antonio, with Vesuvius in the background.  It dates circa 1856.

Size is 10"x 13"(25cm x 33cm)
