INTERFACE ASSEMBLY
1. Disconnect the battery. Remove the factory radio. Please see your local car audio professional if you have any problems. In vehicles equipped with Navigation or radio codes, it may be better to leave the battery connected and use caution with exposed power wires.
2. Plug the iPod to OEM radio cable into the factory radio and into the iPod interface module.
3. Plug the iPod to iPod interface cable into the appropriate connection on the module and route the other end to the desired mounting location, a universal mounting kit is included.
4. Secure the module behind the factory radio and reassemble the dash.
INTERFACE OPERATIONS
CHRYSLER RADIO, SIRIUS MODE
(To be used with text capable radios)
· The MODE button will select/deselect the wire interface.
· SEEK UP and SEEK DOWN will track up or track down within a playlist. At the end of a playlist, the track will wrap around to the beginning.
· PRESET RECALL 1 will access all songs in order.
· PRESET RECALL 2 through 5 will select playlists 1 through 4. If there are less than 5 playlists, the button will have no effect.
· FF will perform fast forward within a track until released.
· REW will perform fast rewind within a track until released.
· SCAN will track up once every ten seconds until pressed a second time.
· Pushing SET then PRESET 2 changes the text display mode. The options are Artist, Track Name and Album.
· Pushing SET then PREST 4 toggles Random operation. The mode will be momentarily displayed on the radio’s display.
Chrysler Radio, CD Mode
(To be used with radios not capable of text messages)
NOTE: To put the iPod interface into CD mode, cut the Pink loop on the 20-way Modex harness and tape up the wires.
· The MODE button will select/deselect the wire interface.
· SEEK UP and SEEK DOWN will track up or track down within a playlist. At the end of a playlist, the track will wrap around to the beginning.
· DISC DOWN functions as a “playlist down” button.
· DISC UP functions as a “playlist up” button. When the maximum number of playlists has been exceeded, it will wrap to playlist 1.
· When DISC 1 is displayed, you will access all songs in order. When DISC 2 is displayed, Playlist 1 will be accessed. DISC 3 will be Playlist 2; DISC 4 will be playlist 3 and so on.
· FF will perform fast forward within a track until released.
· REW will perform fast rewind within a track until released.
· SCAN will track up once every ten seconds until pressed a second time.
· RDN toggles Random operation.
FIRMWARE, IPOD AND YOUR WIRE TUNES INTERFACE
The firmware in your iPod must be the latest revision to operate correctly. Go to apple.com and check your revision with the iPod Update.
Features are being added to your Wire Tunes, and it is simple to update your unit to the latest firmware without removing it from your car.
