Up for sale is a striking, original pair of mid-century folk art portraits depicting Indigenous leaders. Both pieces are beautifully hand-painted by the same artist, feature a uniform solid ochre/gold background, and come housed in their matching vintage carved wooden frames.

Individual Painting Descriptions:

• Portrait 1 (Profile with Feather): Depicts a man in profile looking to the left. He wears a single black-tipped eagle feather in his dark hair, a prominent circular white shell or bone earring, a light-colored tunic with yellow and red striped shoulder trim, and a multi-layered blue, white, and red beaded necklace with small cross details. Signed "C.G." at the bottom center.

• Portrait 2 (Full Headdress): Depicts a man facing forward/three-quarter view. He wears a magnificent white feathered war bonnet/headdress tipped with red and accented with blue and white brow bands. His traditional attire features a detailed white bone pipestone breastplate (hairpipe breastplate) with red accents. Signed "C.G." at the bottom left.

• Frames: The matching wooden frames feature a carved chevron/geometric pattern with gold-painted highlights over a dark walnut stain. They show minor vintage wear and light dust consistent with age but are structurally sturdy and ready to hang.
