A family estate sale

Ellie and Bill Barkby

My grandparents, Ellie and Bill Barkby, loved their collections. I'm finding new homes for these pieces and sharing a little of their story along the way. You'll find their photographs and some of my memories at the bottom of this description.

There are more stoves, dolls and other collectibles to look through, with more still to come. See our other listings.

The item in this auction

This LORIFINA doll wig by Hasbro, item 64689, has long brown curls with auburn tones. The purple display stand and box are included. Color describes its appearance in the photos; no official shade or cap size is stated on the label. Its approximate hanging length is 8.75 inches, which is not a fit measurement.

The wig remains secured on the stand, so the cap and back have not been checked. Some flyaway strands are visible. The box has a torn lower flap, small areas of corner paper loss and scuffs.

We’ve taken care to photograph the item from all sides, including details and any flaws we noticed. Please look through the photos carefully before bidding. If you have any questions, please ask.

Shipping and returns

Shipping is calculated for your address. We allow up to seven business days for handling so buyers can combine eligible purchases. If you'd like your item sooner, message us and we'll ship within three business days of cleared payment and your request.

For eligible purchases within our seven day combine window, please request a combined total before paying. Choose Request combined shipping in your cart, or message us through eBay if that option isn't available. Payment is still due by the deadlines shown by eBay.

We'll check whether the purchases are eligible and can be packed safely together. If so, we'll manually calculate combined USPS domestic shipping and send you an invoice to pay.

For purchases through eBay International Shipping, we send the package to eBay's U.S. hub and eBay handles the international delivery and customs. That program doesn't combine auction orders, so those purchases ship separately.

Returns are not accepted. Please message us through eBay if your package is lost or there's a problem with your order.

About my grandparents, Ellie and Bill Barkby

My grandparents had a train shop called B and E Junction in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. They had customers from all over the world, with mail orders as well as people coming into the shop. I used to go in and help as a kid. At least, I thought I was helping.

My grandmother, Ellie, loved her dolls. I remember going along with her to doll club when I was knee high to a grasshopper. When I stayed overnight at my grandparents' house, I slept on a pullout couch in her doll room. It felt like thousands of doll eyes were watching me all night. That room was a little creepy.

My grandfather, Bill, loved his trains just as much. They built an addition onto their house for a stock room, and I remember helping him pack trains. I remember three different homes over the years, and every one had a train layout in the basement.

After the shop closed, Bill and a good friend started Nostalgia Miniatures. As I remember it, they made miniature street clocks that towns could sell as a fundraiser to pay for a full size street clock. The town could get its clock without the cost coming out of tax money. I always thought that was one of the coolest ideas.

These collections were a big part of their lives, and a big part of my childhood. That's the family behind this estate sale.
