The Marathon Navigator SSNAV-D WW194030AN-US250 is a 41mm US 250 Limited Edition Anthracite Navigator with Date, created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Limited to just 250 pieces, this special-edition Pilot’s Navigator takes inspiration from the American flag and the “Star Spangled Banner” anthem. The Anthracite Ion-Plated case and movement reference “the twilight’s last gleaming”, while a red tritium tube at 12 o’clock represents “the rockets’ red glare”. The dial features a 1776 appliqué encircled by stars, referencing the year of origin and the first symbol of a nation. The case measures 41mm in diameter, 11.5mm thick and 48mm from lug to lug, with 20mm lugs. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the watch is fitted with a bison leather strap.
The watch is powered by an Anthracite Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with 26 jewels and an Incabloc® Shock Absorber. The movement provides automatic timekeeping and a date function, while the Incabloc® system provides protection against shocks. The movement is housed within the Anthracite-finished 316L stainless steel case and operated through a screw-down crown.
The SSNAV-D features a bi-directional 12-hour bezel, allowing an additional time zone to be tracked. The bezel forms part of the Pilot’s Navigator design, while the sapphire crystal, 316L stainless steel case and screw-down crown contribute to the watch’s 10 ATM water resistance, rated to 100 metres (330 feet).
Tritium gas tubes provide visibility in low-light conditions, with the red tritium tube at 12 o’clock serving as a distinctive detail of the US 250 edition. The watch features the first-ever Marathon display caseback, with engravings of the “Stars and Stripes” and “In God We Trust”. A star-engraved crown adds another commemorative detail, while the bison leather strap provides a reference to the national mammal.
The WW194030AN-US250 is limited to 250 pieces and continues the lineage of Marathon’s Pilot’s Navigator, originally developed in 1986 as a joint initiative with Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. The limited-edition Anthracite SSNAV-D combines this history with specific design details created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
