RARE 1970's VINTAGE STYLO MATCHMAKERS ONE-PIECE ALL SYNTHETIC FOOTBALL BOOTS

UNUSED BUT LOOK TO BE FACTORY SECONDS - SOME DETERIORATION BUT REMARKABLY GOOD

SIZE UK 9

For sale here is an iconic pair of 1970's vintage George Best endorsed Stylo Matchmakers football boots, these are are all plastic one-piece football boot which emerged as a low cost flash in the pan in the early 1970's with great fanfare. Very few of these boots appear to have survive the test of time because the materials and method of construction were such that after only a few years many started to self destruct and fall apart/melt into a mess.

This particular pair are actually unused, they come from the redundant stock of a long closed down sports show, HOWEVER they would appear to be factory seconds and they are missing the gold foil branding, they also show the telltale signs of where white paint was applied by the factory denoting them as seconds and hence only to be offered at a discounted price.

CONDITION: Whilst unused these are far from mint, as you can see the soles will benefit from some scrubbing, the insole red fabric covering is loose on both shoes, there is visible deterioration around the top couple of eyelets on both boots (See photos), this is not terminal but you can see clearly the damage. Far from mint but still good for display!

SIZE: Boots are marked inside as a size UK 9 / US 10.

ONE PAIR ONLY, in mint condition these can go for crazy money but these are far from mint and are priced accordingly, they are still however great for display and very rare survivors all the same, in need of a good new home!
