A fine pair of antique cufflinks by Tiffany & Co., circa 1910, in 14 karat yellow gold. Each oval face is modeled in high relief with a standing horse in bridle, set on a naturalistic grassy ground. Each face measures 17.8mm x 13.8mm, and the pair weighs 11.7 grams in total. Signed Tiffany & Co. and 14K, with PAT stamped to the connecting link. The links are fully intact, with no signs of repair, and the pair presents in excellent antique condition with a slight, even patina.

The horse is rendered with real sculptural care. The arched neck, defined musculature, fine bridle detail and individually tooled grass sit against a softly recessed field, so the relief catches the light from every angle. The relief shows no visible wear, and its crispness is rare in cufflinks of this age. The warm patina has settled evenly across the surface and gives the gold the depth expected of a piece more than a century old. Equestrian subjects were a favorite of the period, and these are well suited to the collector of sporting or country-house jewelry.

Tiffany & Co. produced men's accessories of this kind in the early twentieth century, when the house was known for finely modeled naturalistic and sporting motifs. Gold cufflinks with figural relief were then a mark of the well-dressed gentleman. This pair, in 14K and signed on each piece, is a well-preserved example of that tradition.
