An exceptional collector's piece from my personal Levi Strauss Europe archive.
Offered here is a Levi's Vintage Clothing 1933 501XX, Size on label 32x32, individually numbered 47 of 55 worldwide.
This particular pair is also an original Pre-Launch Commercial Sample, issued to Levi's management before the official retail introduction for presentations, press appointments and other launch-related activities.
The jeans are absolutely brand new, never worn and preserved as New Old Stock (NOS).
The original internal commercial sample sticker remains attached to the back pocket:

Based on my firsthand experience at Levi Strauss Europe, CS stands for Commercial Sample.
The jeans are identical in design, construction, wash and finishing to the version that was officially launched at selected retail stores a few months later.
The 1933 501 represents a fascinating transitional period in the history of American denim.
It combines three different waist-adjustment and fastening systems:
Suspender Buttons: Buttons around the waistband allowed the jeans to be worn with traditional suspenders.
Belt Loops: The addition of belt loops reflected the growing popularity of belts.
Cinch Back: An adjustable rear strap with a metal buckle allowed the waistband to be tightened.
The combination of suspender buttons, belt loops and cinch back makes the 1933 model particularly distinctive.
No Red Tab: Levi's introduced its famous Red Tab in 1936. Accordingly, this historically inspired 1933 reproduction has no Red Tab on the back pocket.
Other details include the button fly, classic five-pocket construction, period-inspired rivets, waistband patch and arcuate back-pocket stitching.
The jeans feature a reproduction of the historical NRA label inside the waistband.
NRA stands for National Recovery Administration, established in 1933 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt as part of the New Deal.
The program aimed to support economic recovery during the Great Depression through industry codes addressing fair competition and labor standards.
Levi Strauss & Co. participated in the program, making the NRA marking an important historical detail associated with the 1933 501.
This pair is, of course, a later Levi's Vintage Clothing reproduction of the 1933 design, not an original garment manufactured in 1933.
Levi's Vintage Clothing (LVC) is dedicated to recreating historically significant Levi's garments using original archival references.
The collection is known for period-inspired cuts, denim fabrics, construction details, hardware, labels and particularly authentic washes and finishing techniques.
The 1933 501XX is a standout example of this approach, combining historically accurate design elements with the distinctive appearance of carefully finished vintage denim.

This identifies the jeans as number 47 in an edition limited to 55 numbered pieces worldwide.
The edition number does not establish how many pre-launch samples were produced.
At the original introduction, the jeans were subsequently offered in very limited quantities through selected retail stores.
This pair comes directly from my personal collection, assembled during my professional association with the company.
Selected Commercial Samples were distributed to Levi's management ahead of the retail launch for internal collection presentations, product introductions, press appointments and similar purposes.

Importantly, this is not a different prototype design or an unfinished development piece.
The jeans are exactly the same as the retail version introduced a few months later, including their construction, wash and finishing.
The provenance is based on my direct professional experience.
Absolutely brand new – never worn – New Old Stock (NOS).
The jeans have never been worn, washed by an owner or used as everyday clothing.
All visible fading, whiskering, creasing, worn-in effects and variations in the indigo are part of the original, elaborate Levi's Vintage Clothing factory wash and finishing process.
These are intentional factory-created effects, not signs of actual wear.
LVC is especially renowned among denim enthusiasts for its authentic vintage-inspired washes and finishing.
The jeans have been preserved in my personal collection, with the original Limited Edition label and Commercial Sample sticker still present.

Due to the original wash and finishing process, the actual waistband measurement differs slightly from the tagged size.
Actual waist width: approximately 40.5 cm measured flat.
The jeans were laid flat on the floor and measured across the very top of the waistband from the outermost left edge to the outermost right edge.
Doubled, this corresponds to an approximate waistband circumference of 81 cm.

Diese Jeans trägt die Nummer 47 von 55.
Das Besondere: Es handelt sich gleichzeitig um ein originales Pre-Launch Commercial Sample, das bereits vor dem offiziellen Verkaufsstart an das Levi's Management für Präsentationen, Pressetermine und weitere Aktivitäten im Rahmen der Markteinführung ausgegeben wurde.
Die Jeans ist absolut brandneu, wurde niemals getragen und befindet sich im New-Old-Stock-Zustand (NOS).
Der originale interne Aufkleber ist noch auf der Gesäßtasche vorhanden:

Nach meiner direkten Kenntnis der internen Bezeichnungen steht CS für Commercial Sample.
Die Jeans entspricht in Schnitt, Konstruktion, Waschung und Finishing exakt der Version, die wenige Monate später offiziell im ausgewählten Einzelhandel eingeführt wurde.
Die 1933er 501 gehört zu den historisch interessantesten Varianten der legendären Levi's Jeans.
Sie stammt aus einer Übergangszeit zwischen klassischer amerikanischer Workwear und der modernen Five-Pocket-Jeans.
Besonders charakteristisch ist die Kombination aus drei unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten, die Hose zu befestigen beziehungsweise anzupassen.
Suspender Buttons – Hosenträgerknöpfe
Am Bund befinden sich Knöpfe zum Befestigen von Hosenträgern, wie sie damals bei Arbeitshosen üblich waren.
Belt Loops – Gürtelschlaufen
Gleichzeitig besitzt die Jeans bereits Gürtelschlaufen, sodass sie auch mit einem Gürtel getragen werden konnte.
Cinch Back – Verstellriegel am Rücken
Der typische Cinch Back ist ein verstellbarer Stoffriegel mit Metallschnalle auf der Rückseite des Bundes. Damit lässt sich die Bundweite zusätzlich regulieren.
Alle drei Merkmale in einer Jeans
Diese Kombination macht die 1933er 501 zu einem besonders interessanten historischen Modell.
Noch kein Red Tab
Der berühmte rote Levi's-Tab wurde erst 1936 eingeführt. Deshalb hatte die ursprüngliche 1933er 501 noch keinen Red Tab an der Gesäßtasche.
Auch diese Reproduktion verzichtet entsprechend auf den Red Tab.
Weitere charakteristische Merkmale sind die Knopfleiste, klassische Five-Pocket-Konstruktion, historisch inspirierte Nieten und Knöpfe sowie die geschwungenen Nähte auf den Gesäßtaschen.
Ein weiteres besonderes Detail ist das historische NRA-Label im Bund.
NRA steht für National Recovery Administration.
Diese Organisation wurde 1933 unter US-Präsident Franklin D. Roosevelt im Rahmen des New Deal gegründet.
Sie sollte die amerikanische Wirtschaft während der Weltwirtschaftskrise stabilisieren und bestimmte Branchenregeln für fairen Wettbewerb sowie Arbeits- und Lohnbedingungen fördern.
Levi Strauss & Co. beteiligte sich damals an diesem Programm.
Das entsprechende NRA-Zeichen gehört deshalb zu den charakteristischen historischen Details der 1933er 501.
Bei der angebotenen Jeans handelt es sich selbstverständlich um eine spätere LVC-Reproduktion dieses historischen Modells und nicht um eine originale Jeans aus dem Jahr 1933.
Die Kollektion Levi's Vintage Clothing (LVC) widmet sich der originalgetreuen Neuinterpretation historischer Levi's-Modelle.
Als Grundlage dienen Kleidungsstücke, Schnitte und Details aus dem Unternehmensarchiv von Levi Strauss & Co.
Typische Besonderheiten sind historische Passformen, spezielle Denim-Materialien, zeitgenössische Nähtechniken, Knöpfe, Nieten, Etiketten und Lederpatches.
Besonders bekannt ist LVC unter Denim-Sammlern für seine außergewöhnlich authentischen Waschungen und aufwendigen Finishing-Verfahren.
Die 1933er 501XX ist ein hervorragendes Beispiel für diese Verbindung aus historischer Konstruktion und detailverliebter Vintage-Optik.

Damit ist diese Jeans als Nummer 47 einer weltweit auf nur 55 Exemplare limitierten Edition gekennzeichnet.
Die Nummerierung bezieht sich auf die Limited Edition und erlaubt keine Aussage darüber, wie viele Commercial Samples im Vorfeld hergestellt wurden. Die Jeans wurde anschließend nur in sehr geringer Stückzahl über ausgewählte Retail-Stores angeboten.
Ich war von 2000 bis 2007 bei Levi Strauss Europe tätig.
Die Jeans stammt aus meiner persönlichen Sammlung, die ich während meiner beruflichen Verbindung zum Unternehmen aufgebaut habe.
Vor dem offiziellen Verkaufsstart wurden ausgewählte Exemplare als Commercial Samples an das Management ausgegeben, beispielsweise für interne Kollektionspräsentationen, Management- und Produktvorstellungen, Pressetermine sowie weitere Aktivitäten zur Vorbereitung des Retail-Launches.
Die hier angebotene Jeans stammt aus dieser Pre-Launch-Phase.
Besonders bemerkenswert ist, dass der interne Sample-Aufkleber noch vorhanden ist:

Wichtig für Sammler: Es handelt sich nicht um einen abweichenden Prototyp oder ein unfertiges Entwicklungsmodell.
Dieses Sample ist exakt identisch mit der Version, die wenige Monate später im Einzelhandel erschien – einschließlich Konstruktion, Waschung und Finishing.
Die Herkunftsangaben beruhen auf meiner persönlichen beruflichen Kenntnis. Ein zusätzliches Echtheitszertifikat des Herstellers liegt nicht vor.
Absolut brandneu – niemals getragen – New Old Stock (NOS).
Die Jeans wurde zu keinem Zeitpunkt getragen oder im Alltag benutzt. Sie wurde auch nicht nachträglich vom Besitzer gewaschen.
Sämtliche sichtbaren Waschungen, Fading-Effekte, Falten, Abrieboptiken und Farbunterschiede stammen ausschließlich aus dem originalen, aufwendigen Wash- und Finishing-Prozess von Levi's Vintage Clothing.
Es handelt sich ausdrücklich nicht um tatsächliche Tragespuren!
LVC ist für besonders authentische Vintage-Waschungen bekannt, die den Charakter historisch getragener Jeans aufwendig nachbilden.
Die Jeans wurde seitdem in meiner persönlichen Sammlung aufbewahrt.
Das originale Limited-Edition-Etikett sowie der interne Commercial-Sample-Aufkleber sind noch vorhanden.

Aufgrund des originalen Wash- und Finishing-Prozesses entspricht die tatsächliche Bundweite nicht exakt der ausgezeichneten Größe.
Tatsächliche Bundweite: ca. 40,5 cm, flach gemessen.
Die Jeans lag dabei flach auf dem Boden. Gemessen wurde ganz oben am Bund von der äußersten linken bis zur äußersten rechten Kante.
Verdoppelt ergibt dies einen rechnerischen Bundumfang von ungefähr 81 cm.

出品するのは、Levi's Vintage Clothing（LVC）の1933年モデル501XXです。
世界限定55本のうち、47番にあたる個体です。
さらに、この個体は正式な小売販売開始前に、Levi'sのマネジメント向けに提供されたオリジナルのプレローンチ・コマーシャルサンプルです。
社内プレゼンテーション、プレス対応、商品紹介など、発売準備に関わる目的で使用されるために配布されたものです。
ジーンズは完全な新品・未着用で、New Old Stock（NOS）の状態です。
バックポケットには、当時の社内管理用ステッカーが残っています。

私のLevi Strauss Europeでの実務経験によれば、**CSはCommercial Sample（商用サンプル）**を意味します。
このサンプルは、数か月後に一部の正規取扱店で発売された製品と、デザイン、構造、ウォッシュ、仕上げまで完全に同一の仕様です。
1933年の501は、アメリカのワークウェアが現代的なジーンズへと移行していく時代を象徴するモデルです。
特に特徴的なのは、ウエスト部分に3種類の仕様が共存している点です。
サスペンダーボタン
当時一般的だったサスペンダーを取り付けるためのボタンが付いています。
ベルトループ
ベルトの普及に合わせて、ベルトループも備えています。
シンチバック
背面には金属バックル付きの調整ストラップがあり、ウエストを絞ることができます。
これら3つの仕様が同時に存在することは、1933年モデルの大きな魅力です。
レッドタブなし
Levi'sの象徴的なレッドタブが登場したのは1936年です。
そのため、1933年モデルを再現したこのジーンズには、バックポケットのレッドタブがありません。
その他、ボタンフライ、5ポケット構造、当時の仕様を再現したリベットやボタン、バックポケットのアーキュエイトステッチなども特徴です。
ウエスト内側には、歴史的なNRAラベルが再現されています。
NRAとは、**National Recovery Administration（全国産業復興局）**の略称です。
1933年、フランクリン・D・ルーズベルト大統領のニューディール政策の一環として設立されました。
世界恐慌からの経済回復を目指し、公正な競争や労働条件などに関する業界基準の整備を進めた組織です。
当時Levi Strauss & Co.もこの制度に参加していたため、NRAの表示は1933年モデルの重要な歴史的ディテールとなっています。
本品は1933年当時のオリジナルではなく、後年にLevi's Vintage Clothingが復刻したモデルです。

実際の着用によるダメージや使用感ではありません。
LVCは、長年穿き込まれたヴィンテージデニムの風合いをリアルに再現する加工技術で知られています。
