Original Vintage 1960s Hungry I Nightclub Restaurant Menu 599 Jackson Street San Francisco International Hotel Bay Area California

The hungry i — the club deliberately styled its name in lowercase; founder Eric 'Big Daddy' Nord said he had meant to call it the Hungry Intellectual but 'ran out of paint' for the sign — opened around 1950 in the basement of the Sentinel Building at Kearny and Columbus, and was sold in 1951 to impresario Enrico Banducci. This menu comes from its celebrated 599 Jackson Street era, when the little cellar launched an outsized share of American entertainment: Mort Sahl, Lenny Bruce, Bill Cosby, Jonathan Winters, the Kingston Trio and Barbra Streisand all broke through here, and its bare brick wall became stand-up comedy's visual signature. It moved to Ghirardelli Square in 1967 and closed in 1970.

I don't see a menu from this iconic establishment in eBay active listings or 3 years of Terrapeak sales

It measures 12.75" x 9.5" closed and 19" x 12.75" open.
