Fantastic vintage c. late 1970s–1980s graduated wooden statement necklace in a wonderfully bold palette of turquoise teal, hot pink/fuchsia, warm ivory and natural brown.
The dramatic lower portion is composed of numerous graduated flat wooden disc beads, transitioning from vivid fuchsia into rich teal/turquoise and creating a beautifully sculptural fan-like silhouette when worn.
Two large oval accent beads feature contrasting bands of richly varied natural brown woods, providing a striking transition between the brightly coloured lower section and the smaller ivory wooden disc beads that continue toward the clasp.
Additional hot-pink disc beads are incorporated throughout the upper necklace, including small colour-block sections and larger individual discs, giving the design wonderful balance.
The wooden components show natural grain, subtle surface texture and variations in the way the colour has been absorbed — characteristics of the material that add to the necklace's handmade, organic appearance.
Finished with a brass-tone screw barrel clasp.
