The Grateful Dead 1989 Studio Album Masterpiece ! - " Built To Last CD !! " ...  The ' Last & Final ' Studio Album of The Grateful Dead !!!

Dead Fans ... and Especially ! - all fellow Late '80's Dead Fans !!  I mean ... just remember the overall ' Impact ' on the Grateful Dead Universe ! - that " Built To Last !! " had in the Fall of '89 ! ... & Way-Beyond !!  Indeed, what ultimately turned out to be the " Last & Final " Studio Album of The Grateful Dead !!  The Final Studio Album of the Grateful Dead ... released right-in 1989, at the tail-end of the 1980's during not only their Late-Prime ! - but, arguably to some ( & many ! ) ... their " Prime ! " Period !!  I know it may indeed sound strange, but ... as crazy as it might just sound ( close to 25-years into a 30-year Rock & Roll Career ! ) - the Dead were on Complete-Fire !!! ' Live ' in Concert during this 1989-1990 window, and all during this time - as they essentially were ' Touring ' this here Album " Built To Last !!! ".  Their Live-Shows ( & Dead Sets ! ) were generally filled with many-moments throughout, where this ' new ' material was intricately weaved with precision & grace ... and usually, weaved quite-cleverly also with both Power ! & Attack !!  With Foolish Heart - Just A Little Light - Built To Last - Blow Away - Victim Or The Crime - We Can Run - Standing On the Moon - Picasso Moon - and I Will Take You Home ... All ! being prime-examples, really.  So, in other-words, the material on this ' New ' Dead-Album in '89 was so excellent & well-received too by the Fans ... that they left nothing ! out of their Live song-rotation.  Now just think about that ?! ... as that is pretty-darn Impressive ( in year 24 ! > 25 !! ) !  They played it All ! for the Fans - right off of this ' Built to Last ' Album ! ... " All ! " 9-Tracks !!  But, as we all also well know too ... the Grateful Dead were also dealt an unexpected & truly crushing-blow - right during this specific time & era with the so-untimely loss of keyboardist Brent Mydland in August of 1990 - just right after the end of the Grateful Dead 1990 Summer Tour.  And in some ways - along with other factors obviously - this led to the Dead never releasing another Studio Album, though it was actually in the works into the Early-'90's.  But, then - the untimely passing of Jerry Garcia put an end to not only the prospect of a studio follow-up to Built To Last, but - as we know ... it also put a final end to the Grateful Dead.  With ... " Grateful Dead " Always ! meaning - " With-Jerry ! ".  So yes, the irony is quite thick here - as the Album Title is quite " Prankster-like " in hindsight, though obviously there was no intent at the time ... a Final/Last Album by the seemly unstoppable Grateful Dead - and it's Title ? ... " Built To Last !! ".  And, it should also be noted that Brent, as you can easily see with this release was now becoming a seriously major-force within the Dead - not only at Live Shows in Concert - but, also in the Studio ! ... as Four ( 4 ) of the Nine ( 9 ) Songs ! on This-Album are both written & sung by Brent !  And, some Amazing-Songs ! too.  With 9-Tracks in total on this 1989 Grateful Dead Album - which, was also released while the Dead were ' On-Tour ' ( Fall Tour '89 ) - on " Halloween !
