The Ion is Burton’s more aggressive, performance-focused boot, designed for riders who want strong edge control, heel hold and responsiveness rather than a soft, forgiving boot. Burton describes the Ion as a firm/stiff, responsive boot aimed at hard charging.
Boot is in excellent condition. I bought this for holidays to keep up with my skiing mates but in the end I mostly stuck with my softer freestyle boots.
Key features:
* Dual-Zone High Power Focus BOA® lacing with separate adjustment zones allowing to independently tighten the lower/forefoot and upper boot for a precise fit.
* RYRIDE Heat Cycle™ lining — designed to retain body heat and manage moisture inside the boot.
* Tuff Cuff — provides additional ankle support and heel hold while allowing the boot to flex from toe to heel.
* 1:1 Firm Flex PowerUP Tongue — contributes to the boot’s stiff, responsive feel.
* AutoCANT / ReBounce cushioning — designed to improve comfort, impact absorption and board feel.
* EST® Optimized Midsole — Burton’s low-profile construction intended to give a more direct connection to the board.
* Life Liner — Burton’s lightweight performance liner, designed to provide a supportive fit while remaining comfortable over long days.
