This auction is for a rare Napoleon Dynamite animated television series promotional sticker booklet that was part of a press kit for the short-lived 2012 show that was part of Fox's "Animation Domination" programming for several months. The series was created by Jared and Jerusha Hess, the brothers who wrote the original surprise hit 2004 movie starring Jon Heder as the titular awkward teenage boy growing up in strange circumstances in Preston, Idaho. All of the actors from the original film participated in the series, voicing the same characters they played in the movie.
The series only ran for six episodes between January and March of 2012 before being canceled, but it developed a cult following among fans of the film. The 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch sticker book features all of the main characters from the series (Napoleon, his brother Kip, Grandma and Uncle Rico, his friends Deb and Pedro and "Rex Kwon Do" sensei Rex) along with speech bubbles containing some of their signature phrases and dialog from the movie and series. There is also a page of stickers including Uncle Rico's van, Tina the Llama, Napoleon's bike and various other items. The booklet that the stickers can be placed in depicts various settings from the movie and show like Napoleon's living room and the outside of his house, the exterior of Preston High School and the Rex Kwon Do dojo.
The booklet was part of a press kit for the show that was distributed to Fox stations when the show came out. The booklet is in excellent shape with a couple of slight creases on one of the pages, minor edge and corner wear (see photos). None of the stickers have been used, but there is a bit of wear on one of the Rico sticker's feet. This is a fine and very rare piece of Napoleon Dynamite that fans would be hard pressed to find anywhere much less in this condition. The booklet will be mailed to the auction winner in a sturdy cardboard record mailer to protect the item. Please check my other auctions for more magazines, t-shirts and memorabilia!
