This is a marvellous Vintage Ideal Toy Corp Tammy and Her Friends Travel Case with a Tammy Girl Doll, with Blonde Hair and her older brother Ted.

The dolls are the first generation with the original straight legs with no country of manufacture. When the Tammy doll was launched by Ideal in 1962, the primary manufacturing runs intended for domestic sale in the United States did not require a country of origin stamp on the body.

Tammy is marked BS-12 3 to her back and Ted is marked BS-12 ½ and were both made in 1963, likely in Hong Kong given their complexion. They’re in very good condition with Tammy wearing her original one-piece outfit and Ted wearing shorts.

The Tammy and Her Friends Travel Case was introduced as an accessory in 1965. To the inside there is a faux telephone to each side section. The case is in good condition but does exhibit a little age-related wear, which includes a telephone lacking the cable to the receiver and a small split to the inside where the opening door bends. There is a hanger to the top of each centre section for hanging and storing of clothes. The case measures approximately 35cm by 37cm.

Tammy was first produced in 1962, a year before Sindy appeared and ceased production in 1966.
