Such examples are rare and increasingly difficult to locate.
NOTE:* Upon the death of Admiral Lord Nelson in 1805 there were a variety of commemorative/souvenir pieces crafted to celebrate the hero's Royal Navy endeavours. The phrase 'immortal' was often associated with Nelson when when he was alive, however it grew to be a popular word about him after his death.
ConditionThis antique George III silver vinaigrette is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.
The decoration is all very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the vinaigrette are very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from this fine example of Georgian silverware.
