Offered is a 1928 Photoplay Edition for the movie Speedy, issued in conjunction with Harold Lloyd’s classic silent comedy, complete with its original dust jacket. Both the book and dust jacket remain in remarkably well-preserved condition for a nearly century-old volume.

Starring Harold Lloyd alongside Ann Christy, Speedy was released in 1928 and was Lloyd’s final silent feature. Set largely in New York City, the film is celebrated for its wonderful period views of the city, including scenes filmed at Yankee Stadium and a memorable appearance by baseball legend Babe Ruth.

Photoplay editions are wonderful survivors from Hollywood’s silent era, combining early motion-picture history with vintage publishing and offering collectors a tangible connection to the films and stars of the period. The survival of this example with its original dust jacket in such attractive condition makes it especially appealing.
