LITTLE GIRL’S SUMMER COAT

in EMBROIDERED RIBBED COTTON

Adorable little summer coat for a little girl dating from the early 20th century.

It is made of ribbed cotton and adorned with a large collar forming a shoulder cover.

The collar, front opening and bottom of the coat are copiously bordered with renaissance embroidery flowers with stems and leaves embroidered in satin stitch.

A large satin stitch borders the bottom of the mantle between the groups of flowers.

large pleats in the back give fullness and highlight the embroidery.

It closed with 2 snaps or 2 small hooks at the top of the bust behind the collar. These have been removed and need to be replaced.

The main dimensions are as follows:

Height from top of collar to lower back: 53 cm

Shoulder width (flat): 28 cm

Width under armholes (flat): 39 cm

The collar is approximately 30 cm around the neck.

Sleeve length is 28cm
