Vintage Pre-WWII HREIA Restaurant & Hotel Workers Union Dues Pin Lot (3) - 1938-1940


Up for sale is a fantastic, highly localized lot of three (3) authentic vintage Hotel and Restaurant Employees International Alliance (HREIA) celluloid dues buttons. This run captures Minnesota's hospitality and restaurant labor history just prior to World War II, representing local chapters from both St. Paul and Duluth.


Included Pins & Specifications:

* March 1938 - Local 556 (St. Paul, MN): Green outer border with a red and white central "RE" union monogram logo ring. Features a scarce yellow paper manufacturer insert on the reverse.

* December 1938 - Local 53 (Duluth, MN): Brown outer border with a red and white central "RE" union monogram logo ring.

* March 1940 - Local 556 (St. Paul, MN): Green outer border with a matching green and white central "RE" union monogram logo ring.


Manufacturer Marks:

All three pieces were produced locally in Minnesota by the renowned Western Badge and Novelty Co. (St. Paul, Minn.). Each pin retains a complete, crisp paper insert backing showing sharp typography and the official Allied Printing Trades Council union bug.


Condition:

Excellent vintage condition. The front celluloid panels are beautifully preserved with no cracking, face splits, or heavy discoloration. The reverse paper inserts are exceptionally bright, clean, and legible. The metal wire pin mechanisms are fully intact and functional with minimal age-appropriate surface wear.
